Falls: Zimbabwe Side • Afternoon Game Drive

Embark on a chauffeured tour aboard your minibus: He will accompany you all along your circuit from Victoria Falls (D11 22/08/23 Tuesday) to Victoria Falls (D14 25/08/23 Friday) – View one of the world’s natural wonders on a visit to the Zimbabwe side of the Victoria Falls. This enormous sheet of falling water was first discovered by David Livingstone in 1855, although it had been known to the local people for much longer than that. It is shared by two countries, Zambia to the north and Zimbabwe to the south.

Around two thirds of the falls are located on the Zimbabwe side and this country is also considered to have more classical views of the mains falls with footpaths leading you to breathtaking viewpoints such as Devils Cataract, Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls and the very popular Rainbow Falls. The sights from here are considered some of the best on the planet while the sheer force of the tumbling water is a sensory treat as water plunges and tumbles, sending sprays of mist up into the skies. – Gear up for an exhilarating afternoon game drive in the Zambezi National Park. Protecting a good chunk of a rift valley that is geologically connected to the Great Rift Valley in East Africa, the Zambezi National Park features a fertile and hilly terrain where rich soil nurtures tall, strong trees along the riverine areas such as leadwood, fig trees and winterthorn woodlands – the fruits of which are a favorite of elephants.

The park has sizable populations of big game, especially elephants and buffalo, both of which can often be seen grazing on the islands in the middle of the Zambezi River. There are also plenty of predators in the park as a large number of buffalos attract scores of lions, while leopards enjoy hunting in the varied, well-covered terrain. The area is also a fantastic bird watching location and particularly prolific in wading birds that include ospreys, spoonbills, and African skimmers.

Wild Horizons Wallows • Game Walk

Inspire your creative side on an artistic wildlife experience. This incredible three-hour activity will place you in close proximity to one of Africa’s largest mammals, while simultaneously allowing you to put brush to canvas in the presence of splendid nature. Beginning with an elephant interaction session, observe, connect and share time with these marvellous creatures before expressing your encounter through art with the aid of an easel and paint.

After feeding and meeting the elephants from the safety of an elevated deck, you can retire to a shady spot near the water hole where you can immortalise your emotive experience on canvas. A local artist will be on hand to assist you if necessary, while the elephants play and cool down in the muddy water nearby. This unique workshop is hosted by Art of Africa, a group of young artists from the Victoria Falls area with the aim of exposing African art to the rest of the world

Lace up your walking boots and set off from your hotel for a game walk in one of the reserves in the Victoria Falls area. Rolling hills tinged with green vegetation and open grassy savannas lapped by the water of the Zambezi River set the scene as you begin your game walk in search of animals and birds amongst some of the most pristine landscapes in Zimbabwe. Let your natural senses and instinct come to life as you return your sensory perceptions to the sounds and smells of the wild and begin to track animal spoor with the help of your guide. Abundant wildlife will keep your tracking skills honed and reward you with fantastic sightings, while monkeys chatter noisily in the trees and birds and butterflies flit through the sky. A game walk presents the ideal opportunity to slow down and closely inspect the small elements of nature that are often missed on a traditional game drive and you will be surprised at how much you learn and how much more you see.
