EXCELLENT Based on 18 reviews Ricardo G2024-09-17Verified 8 day trip around Kenya and Tanzania We had an amazing time during the Safari. We were really lucky that we got to see the big 5 and the great migration, Meshalu and Sammy were incredible Tour Guides that shared a lot of valuable information, made us feel safe all the time and knew perfectly where to go to get the best views.I would highly recommend camping in the parks, you can get great pictures and views and hear the animals at night.Where we got unlucky was in the hotels where we stayed, most rooms had issues, they had to move us rooms every time and in general the quality of the stay was not great. I would encourage the agency to either look for other accommodation spots or really check with the hotels before the stay if the rooms are not under maintenance or have something not working. The food was really good, all you can eat everywhere and the food was really tasty.Be prepared to get really dusty Xin H2024-08-31Verified Completely amazi9ng We just returned from an incredible 13-day Great Apes & Africa Safari trip, and we can't say enough good things about our experience with Lush Africa Safaris. Abbey did an outstanding job planning our itinerary, spending extra time to adjust it to include additional locations we wanted to visit. The itinerary featured breathtaking sites in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. The trip was very reasonably priced. The only glitch was a minor hotel reservation mess-up in Kigali. Our guide, together with Lush Africa Safari regional office got the issue quickly resolved. (By the way, the hotel was the Hotel Des Mille Collins, the same hotel where the event described in the movie Hotel Rwanda took place.) Although it was most likely an error by the hotel and not Lush's fault, Abbey even upgraded two of our hotels and tents as we traveled. Our guides Yves in Rwanda and Uganda, Peter in Kenya, and Joseph in Tanzania were all professional, reliable and did their best so that we can see as much wild life as possible. Their knowledge, experience, and keen eyes made our journey unforgettable. They knew the parks and reserves inside and out, spotting animals that other visitors often missed. Peter and Joseph always took us out very early in the morning and stayed later for game drives. Peter seemed to be a leader among the tour guides; he was often the first to find wildlife and would then radio the other drivers. During traffic jams (yes, believe it or not, there were traffic jams in African parks and reserves!), Peter acted like a traffic controller, directing drivers to back up or move to resolve the gridlock. Somehow, the other drivers seem always listened to him.Seeing the great migration was a challenge. At the Masai Mara Reserve, the rangers blocked the road due to the many jeeps, so we could onlysee the wildebeests running into and out of the Mara River, but not crossing it (Peter was even more upset about this than we were). On our first afternoon in Serengeti Park, Joseph spotted possible crossing site three times. However, over 30 inexperienced drivers rushed ahead and blocked the animals access to the river! We told Joseph to give up and move on, but he refused. The following morning, he drove an extra 1.5 hours back to the crossing site. Unlike others who rushed to the riverbank, where more than 50 jeeps were jammed up, Joseph stayed back on a hill, watching closely. Then, suddenly, he turned in a different direction and drove like a maniac. Guess what! He beat the others and got us to the crossing site just in time. We witnessed the great migration with our own eyes! Another example, also in Serengeti park. We were waiting, with several other jeeps, for a group of leopards, hidden behind bushes, to come out. Joe intensely looked at horizon far away. Then he said "these leopards are not coming out anytime soon. I saw a elephant group in that direction, probably cross a road soon. Let's go there first." Even with a binocular, I saw nothing. I thought Joe must be kidding. We went anyway. After 3 or 4 mins fast driving, a family of elephants was about to cross the road right in front of us. Exactly the right time, Exactly the right spot. Exactly as Joe said! Amazing! He must have a 20/5 vision! Thanks to Joseph, we saw so much more than we ever expected. I must add this additional comment. In the morning of the last day of our trip, we drove from Serengeti Park to Ngorongoro Crater. On the way, we saw a disabled jeep. Joe and several other jeeps stopped to help. However, the problems could not be fixed, and other jeeps left. Joe asked us if it is ok if we took the passengers and the driver of the disabled jeep into our vehicle. (Our Land-cruiser can take 6 passengers, I and my wife were the only passengers). It would add a bit inconvenience to us. But of course, we said fine. So we continued our game drive to Ngorongoro Crater (also the designation of the disabled jeep). After the drive was done, Joe sent us to our hotel. Then took the rescued passengers to their hotel. We must praise Joe for his professionalism. Not only he helped his fellow tour guide, he also saved a young Italian couple's dream vacation!Because we were so close to the wildlife, lions, elephants, leopards, rhinoceroses, cheetahs, giraffes, hippos, zebras, buffalo's, crocodiles, wildebeests, wild dogs, baboons, warthogs, impalas, kudus, gazelles, ostriches, and more. We took so many photos and videos. We could even submit some to National Geographic!Staying in the tents for several nights was a great experience! The quality of the tents and the services were exceptional. We could see wild animals from inside our tents. One night, a few buffaloes even slept right next to our door!In addition to the wildlife, our guides enriched our trip by sharing fascinating insights into Africa's history and cultures, allowing us to learn a great deal along the way. We feel incredibly fortunate to have chosen Lush Africa Safaris for this adventure. The trip was absolutely amazing, and witnessing the great migration was the highlight of a lifetime. Words can't describe our feelings about this trip. One thing we missed on this trip was hiking Mount Kilimanjaro. (But, I assure you, this was not the fault of Lush Africa Safari or any of the drivers). We will have to do it in our next life!Again, thanks for everything, Abbey, Yves, Peter, and Joseph! Wendy B2024-08-07Verified Exceptional quality, value and professionalism From our initial inquiry to the guides who took care of every detail to ensure we had a trip of a lifetime, Lush Africa Safaris is highly recommended. Our 14-day tour of Rwanda and Uganda included the highest standards of professionalism, personable and knowledge insights, high-quality lodging and food, and a thorough experience of all the cultural, flora and fauna that exceeded our expectations! They also went above and beyond to celebrate our anniversary and birthday for a memory of a lifetime! Paul W2024-07-24Verified Fantastic Experience We booked a 12 day safari through Kenya and Tanzania with Lush Africa Safaris and could not have been happier with the service they provided. We did not know where to start and stumbled upon Lush through some internet searching. From the first communication Abbey was prompt, knowledgeable and extremely flexible with what we wanted to do. We changed our itinerary several times due to health reasons and absolutely nothing was a problem for Abbey. In particular we wanted to see the Wildebeest migration and Abbey tailored our trip so that this would be possible. We were a bit nervous arriving in Nairobi and not knowing what to expect however there was no need to be as Abbey's staff met us at the airport as promised and they took great care of us until we departed. Our guides were Jackson in Kenya and Aubu in Tanzania. Both guides were knowledgeable and their passion and love of nature was infectious. They were also flexible with the itinerary and listened to what we wanted to do. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lush Africa Safaris codymcc782024-02-24Verified Simply Amazing!! Lush Africa Safari was a superior safari company to work with. I planned my East African adventure with Abbey to get the ideal experience I was looking for. I am a solo traveler. I had booked a “15 day “Big 5” safari and Zanzibar beaches” and traveled to Kigali, Rwanda and Uganda to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to trek with Mountain Gorillas with my guide Cyprien. We did a city tour of Kigali and had an amazing day! He was so kind and amazing. Next, I flew to Nairobi Kenya and met my guide Sammy. He was an excellent driver and guide. We ventured into the Masai Mara to get photos of the “Big 5” and more. He navigated the dirt and muddy terrain like a professional! He was amazing! We then drove through the Rift Valley and then I crossed the border into Tanzania. That’s where I met Joesph my Tanzania guide. Joesph was safe driver and professional. He navigated the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater and conservation area with ease. I did the Serengeti Hot Air Balloon Ride with Miracle Safari with Moses and he was great also! Mid way through my safari I decided to make a slight change to my itinerary with my hotel to stay at in Arusha and Abbey was happy to see that I had an amazing time and he made the change I requested. After Arusha, I flew to Zanzibar and stayed in a Beach front bungalow that Abbey arranged for me on Nungwi Beach. The waves literally crashed right under my deck! The beach was absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much Lush Africa Safari for a wonderful experience of a lifetime through East Africa! e S2024-01-24Verified wonderful safari, everything on point we booked with Lush because of the wonderful itinerary we were given. This was our first trip to Africa, so their was some hesitancy, but the reviews and feedback from other travelers was invaluable to planning the trip. We were not disappointed!. Initially we were looking at Tanzania and Kenya, but after talking to Abbey we extended to Uganda, as being Ugandan, he knows that country particularly well. Abbey offered many helpful suggestions and insights. The vehicles were relatively new, and got us threw some pretty rough roads, with an "African massage" Joseph was a wonderful guide and got our African trip off to a great start. Peter was a master tracker and driver, and had a nose for finding the animals. Robert went out of his way to be helpful. Lake Navaisha was a wonderful addition particularly for Christmas, and Amboseli turned out to be another highlight, as Peter got us close to a lion family near dusk. Every day was wonderful, and the safari ended far too quickly! Dan K2023-10-11Verified Amazing, stress free trip of a lifetime! My wife and I went on a 11day/10 night trip with Lush Africa Safaris and we could not recommend them enough. Our trip started in Uganda and we went to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to trek with the gorillas. We then flew to Tanzania and went on a multi day safari in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater and then finished in Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Entebbe we were met at the airport by our Ugandan guide Derrick. Derrick was a great guide, always on-tme, very knowledgeable, and had has feel very safe and comfortable for our entire Ugandan stay. In Tanzania we were met at the airport by Joseph who guided us through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Joseph knew all the best spots in the park to see animals and was also an absolute professional. He was very experienced and knowledgeable and was always in control. We were very lucky to have Joseph as a guide. We then flew to Zanzibar where we relaxed at Nungwi Dreams resort for a few days, snorkeled, and did a spice tour. They say your guides make or break your trip and ours definitely made ours. Working with Lush was very easy and painless. From the beginning Abbey was always in touch and available to answer questions. The safari can be very customizable to fit your schedule and budget and Abbey is always happy to accommodate. Over the course of the booking some of our accommodations had to be changed to better fit our schedule but they were always the same if not better quality than what was listed. There were no issues during our entire trip, everyone was on-time, all accommodations were booked, and overall the trip was very stress free.
